BBQ Chicken Dinner and snacks at the Pavilion-Lions Club
12pm - 6pm The Lions Club brings you their famous BBQ Chicken dinners at $12.00. Includes beverage and sides. Also at the Pavilion are a variety of other offerings such as hamburgers, chips, and sodas. All proceeds go to support Lions Activities such as vision, hearing and diabetes and community needs.
BEER GARDEN (benefits Emmitsburg Library & Multi-User Trails)
2pm - 10pm Its Back! After such a success last year the beer garden is coming back with some more crafted beers to enjoy. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library and the Multi-User Trails. Local craft brew brought to you by Smoketown Brewery. No one under the age of 21 may enter the designated area. All patrons buy beer must stay in the beer garden while drinking. Tables and chairs are available. The beer garden will be located in a fenced off area near the Bandstand. Beer Cost is $5 per solo cup.
BINGO
12pm -4pm Come to the Bingo tent and spend an hour under the shade. This is "quarter" bingo where you pay a quarter a card (or 50 cents for 3 cards) and try your luck to win half the "pot". All proceeds go to support Heritage Day 2023 fireworks and activities.
Biking Skills Course -
3:30p to 5:30p This is a biking skills obstacle course set up by the Monacacy Composit Youth Mountain Biking Team.
CCC KIDS GAMES & RIDES (Christ Community Church)
12pm - 3pm FREE - Kids games, rides and face painting near the Tennis courts under the trees. Bring the kids to enjoy the huge Kiddie Pillar inflatable, Moon bounce, barrel train ride, and face painting. The barrel ride takes the kids along the paths of the community park. CHALK ART CONTEST
12pm - 4pm Open to the Public Ages 1- 17. Come create a work of art at the tennis courts! Win a ribbon. Chalk is provided and a work space to create! Art will be judged and winners art posted in Facebook and their names in the Banner. This year's theme is Fantastic Animals You Wish Existed
Corn Hole Tournament (Registration required)
2pm (Registration) 3pm (Start) NEW this year, Cornhole tournament, hosted by the Cool Legacy Team will allow any and all to play. There is a $20 fee (which goes to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention "Out of Darkness Walk). Partners will be blind drawn.
Cotton Candy (Knights of Columbus)
12 pm the traditional cotton candy giveaway by the Knights of Columbus. First come, first serve. Will be available until there are no more ingredients!
Crafter Market- located in Community Park near bandstand
12pm - 4pm Features vendors and organizations providing entertainment and shopping opportunities. This year featured is jewelry items, teacup crafts, drinkware, accessories, figurines, author's books (2 authors featured), raw honey, primitive crafts, cotton candy, ice-cream and more yet to come! Admission is Free!
Dog Demonstration (South Paw Dog Club)
2pm South Paw Dog Club will demonstrate Basic and Advanced Obedience with our K9’s on an agility obstacle course. Our line up of K9’s listen to both verbal and nonverbal commands. . At the completion of our demo, we welcome any spectators with K9’s of their own to try out the course with the help of our spotters. Life is more Fun with a Dog !
FIREWORKS at Community Park
9:45pm (approx) As soon as it's dark you will be treated to the best fireworks in the north county area--if not in all of Frederick County! Bring your blankets and chairs and enjoy the beautiful and spectacular fireworks. Sponsored by EPBA and the Lions, and supported through the generous donations of individuals, public and civic organizations and businesses in our community and surrounding area (see our sponsorship page)!
Field Games (Lions Club)
Noon - 2pm - You will never have as much fun anywhere than at our old fashioned field games! Join in and catch the greased pig, toss eggs, do the 3 legged race, or hop your way across the finish line in your potato sack! Then see who can eat their slice of watermelon fastest without using their hands--or maybe you would enjoy the pie eating contest even more! Laughter and mayhem abound! FUN for ALL ages. Sponsored by the Emmitsburg LIONS Club. Located at the Elementary School Field across from the main festival area.
Fire Truck Spray (Vigilant Hose Company)
3pm Our local Vigilant Hose Company will help you cool off with a spraying from their truck hose! Fun Water play!
Food Trucks
6pm During the Food trucks will be there to provide you with dinner, snacks and beverages for purchase. This year (2023)we are having La Carreta Tacos y Tortas and Uncle Moe's Soul Food to provide dinner to those waiting for Fireworks and enjoying evening entertainment by Special Delivery Band.
Frederick Fire and Rescue Museum
9am - Visit the Frederick County Fire & Rescue Museum and see the tradition and history of the Frederick County, Maryland Fire/Rescue service as well as the National Firefighter archives and exhibits of fire equipment and vehicles. www.frederickmdfiremuseum.org

HISTORY Hayride
6pm - 8pm The History Tour is Back! Join Historian Jim Rada on this unique hayride through Emmitsburg. Listen to the best lore in Emmitsburg's past as you enjoy a relaxing hayride. Pre-registration is required. See Jim Rada's vendor tent in the Event area. Arrive at your scheduled time 5 minutes early for loading. Seating is limited.
Horseshoe Tournament (Tyrian Lodge)
12 noon registration - Tournament begins at 1pm - This annual competition is open to all. No experience is required.
Kickball Tournament
10a - 11:30 Registration on site. 11a - 1p. Games; 1p Championship game. Donations accepted for "AFSP Out of Darkness" for registration.
MUSIC with Special Delivery at the Bandstand

Main Street Mile
4:30 line up/5pm start - A one mile family walk/ride/run on the parade route sponsored by the Seton Center. Line up by 4:30pm at Mountain View Road (at the Doughboy) Registration is at the Beer tent from 2 - 4pm and is free. Call Tim O'Donnell for more information at 301-447-3839
Parade (Vigilant Hose Auxiliary)
5pm - The parade we wait for every year! Parade Route is from the Doughboy (WW1 Statue) at Mountain View Road down West Main street, turns right at the square and continues down South Seton. Parade ends at Cedar. All are welcome to return to the park after the parade for music and food. *Larger vehicles will turn around in Southgate community or go straight to Rt. 15.
Parade Line up at 4:30pm
4:30pm Line up on Mount View Road at 4:30. Parade starts at 5pm. To line up, take Rt. 140 West (Waynesboro Pike). Take a left on to Mountain View Road and drive to parade starter who will put you into position.
